Celebrating Triumph: From Battling Crohn’s Disease to Being the Best Photographer in Jacksonville

It’s with immense pride and overwhelming gratitude that I announce Oswar Photography has been recognized as the Best Photographer in Jacksonville, Florida, by the Best of Bold City Community’s Choice Awards! This accolade isn’t just a testament to my work but a celebration of a journey that has been filled with challenges, passion, and unwavering support from my incredible family and loyal clients.

Reflecting on this milestone, I am reminded of the 20 years that have passed since I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Twenty years since my body lost 10 cm of intestine, twenty years of relentless struggle, and twenty years of fighting to live. It’s been 7305 days since I was given a second chance at life. This isn’t just a victory in my career but a personal triumph against the odds that life threw at me.

Twenty years ago, amidst the struggles, my love for photography was born. It wasn’t just a hobby but became my medicine, my sanctuary, and my source of strength. Today, as I sit here among the best photographers in this magnificent city, I am not just celebrating an award; I am celebrating life, resilience, and the power of dreams. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey! I still can’t believe it. We won! But more importantly, I conquered Crohn’s disease! I’m not the best photographer in Jacksonville; I’m a Crohn’s patient who has shown the disease that there are no limits. Although I have Crohn’s disease, it doesn’t have me!

Oswar Photography wasn’t built in a day. It grew from a place of passion and love, nurtured by the incredible support of my wife, Magalys, and my son, Oliver. Magalys, the backbone of our business, manages customer service and photo editing, ensuring every image we create is a masterpiece. Oliver, my little miracle, brings joy and laughter to our sessions, making our clients feel at home and capturing those genuine, heartfelt moments.

Our journey together as a family and a business has been nothing short of magical. Each photograph we take tells a story, and each client we work with becomes a part of our extended family. From maternity shoots to capturing the delicate beauty of newborns, every moment is precious and worth cherishing.
