From Tropical Christmas at the Beach to The Polar Express Experience, we’ve built holiday sets that capture joy in every style imaginable. But this year’s Christmas Minis felt different — not just because of the lights, the colors, or the props — but because the entire experience was created together, as a family.

The Story Behind the 2025 Christmas Sets

After the excitement of last year’s sessions, we knew we wanted to do something bold — something that would bring together elegance, color, and pure holiday fun. For weeks, Magalys and I sketched ideas, visited décor stores, and scrolled through countless Pinterest boards.

But then, something beautiful happened: our son Oliver decided to join the creative process.

This wasn’t planned — it just naturally evolved. One day, while we were discussing possible color schemes, we showed Oliver several ideas. Without hesitation, he pointed to the bright red one and said, “That one!”

And that’s how it started.

The Red Set: Oliver’s Christmas Vision

If you know Oliver, you know that when he loves something, he really loves it. His favorite color is red — and once he saw a concept filled with bold red walls, giant gift boxes, and golden bows, he couldn’t stop talking about it.

He sat with us as we planned, choosing his favorite wrapping papers, ribbons, and even the size of the boxes. When setup day arrived, he was right there — unwrapping decorations, “helping” with the tape, and carefully stacking boxes with the biggest smile on his face.

Seeing his excitement reminded us of what Christmas is truly about — spending time together, creating, laughing, and celebrating as a family.

Every year, our Christmas Minis bring families into the studio to make memories. This time, the magic began long before the first camera clicked — it started right in our living room, with a little boy’s imagination leading the way.

While the red set came straight from Oliver’s heart, the blue and gold set was a mix of mine and Magalys’s creative visions.

We wanted something sophisticated, classic, and timeless — a setup that felt like an elegant Christmas gala inside a dream. It took two trips to Hobby Lobby, countless ideas, and a lot of “What if we try this?” moments.

The result?
A luxurious, deep blue background with gold accents, twin Christmas trees adorned with lights, ribbons, and ornaments that sparkle like winter stars.

We even added a cozy fireplace and lush greenery to balance the cool tones with warmth. The goal was to make every family that steps into that scene feel like they’re walking into a holiday storybook — glowing, joyful, and full of love.

Building the Sets: A Family Tradition

This year, though, the process became something even more special.
Between glue guns, garlands, and boxes of ornaments, our studio turned into a Christmas workshop — filled with laughter, Christmas playlists, and spontaneous dance breaks (yes, even from Oliver).
