FAQ

Who will be photographing our session?
Oswar Nieves will always be the photographer at your session.
Are prints included with the session fee?
Prints are not included with the session fee. The session fee covers up to 1 or two hours of time, retouching of all proofs (typically 10-30 proofs), and your online proofing gallery. High-resolution files and licensing are included in all event rates. And any agreement agreed between the client and the photographer
How many outfits can I bring?
We don’t place a limit on the number of outfits you can bring to your shoot, but we encourage our clients to try to keep outfit changes to around 2 outfits for a typical 2 hour session. Any more than that and we’re usually rushed for time and are not able to get all of the shots that we need. If you have more than two outfits, try switching out accessories (jewelry, scarves, hats, shoes, etc.) or just change tops instead.
What should we wear?
It’s completely up to you and type of session you’re looking for! High-school seniors often go for something trendy while families with small children may select more classic attire. Corporate sessions are typically formal suits or business casual. We are fairly open about the clothing you choose to bring, but in general, we want you to wear something that you feel is a reflection of you. Your portrait session should look like you (on a very good day). There are a few things that we suggest you stay away from. We prefer that our families not dress alike. Everyone in your family has their own personality and we believe their clothing should reflect that. Try coordinating instead with colors/patterns that are complimentary. If you really want to have everyone in the same color we suggest at least having everyone in different styles for some variety (like this session). For kids, we believe in letting them have fun. Does your son have a pair of cowboy boots he can’t live without? Bring them! Daughter have some sparkly high tops and a tutu she loves? Let her wear it. You can always bring a more traditional outfit, but it’s fun to look back on them as they were in this particular moment. Also, don’t forget the details (nails, eyebrows, hair, etc.).
How quickly will we see our proofs after the session?
Online proofs are generally posted in the gallery within 7 to 14 days.
Can we view and order our pictures online?
Yes, you can! Proofs are posted online in a password-protected gallery, and you may order prints, negatives and other products directly through the website.
Can I see all of my photos?
We strongly believe in showing only our greatest images to our clients. Our photos are a reflection of us and we want to show you the very best. We typically narrow it down to the top 20-40 images from your session. This is usually more than enough to cover all of the different looks from your session. We find that it also helps our clients in narrowing down their selections because too many images can sometimes be overwhelming
How long will it take to receive my print order?
Most orders typically arrive about two weeks after the order date. If you’re ordering canvas prints it can sometimes take from 3-6 weeks.
Can I have my session asap?
Please feel free to contact us regarding availability, but since we currently only shoot on weekends, we are typically booked at least a month in advance.

I offer a wide variety of high-end products including hand-retouched photographic prints, wall-sized canvas artwork, custom holiday & personal notecards, albums and more.

Could you shoot my birthday party, baby shower, sweet 16 party, etc.?
for me it would be an honor
Can I share my photos online?
Yes! We love when our clients share our photos online. Most of our business is through word of mouth so it always helps to have our clients spread the word for us. The only thing we ask is that you provide a link back to our website next to the images you display.
Can I print my photos?
If you have purchased a high resolution file or collection from us, you’re welcome to print them however you’d like.
Title goes here
All photographs are photographically printed at a professional laboratory. They are not inkjet prints.
If our photographs need retouching, is there an extra charge?
Basic retouching (removal of blemishes, scars, dirt, etc.) for those images ordered as prints or products is included.
Can we have any black and white or sepia pictures?
Yes, of course. One of the advantages to shooting digitally is that you don’t have to decide if you want color or B&W/sepia before the session. You can choose the best look for each individual image after the session.
Do you shoot weddings?
Yes, although portrait photography is our main focus we’ve started getting into weddings as well. Wedding start at $1,500. You can view the wedding section of our portfolio for some of our favorite wedding images.
If you haven't been to our venue, will you go there before the wedding? Do we need to go with you?
Yes, I can visit your venue prior to the wedding to choose the best lighting and locations. You are welcome to accompany me if you like, but it isn’t required.
How often should we meet to go over the wedding details?
You may meet with me as often as you like!
Do you work with an assistant? If so, will he/she be shooting as well?
Yes. Given the importance of the day, it is vital to have an assistant present. Not only do they keep the equipment ready at all times, they provide a second perspective in capturing moments throughout the day.
Can you take our engagement or bridal portrait?
Absolutely. You may add an engagement or bridal session at any time.
Where should we take our engagement pictures?
Most couples choose to take their engagement pictures at a location that holds some personal meaning to them. If you need some help choosing a location, I will be happy to help.
How soon should we have our engagement/bridal photos taken?
You should schedule these at least 4-6 weeks before the wedding to allow plenty of time for printing and framing of the images. If you plan to announce your engagement in the newspaper, please plan to have your text and photo to them at least 2 weeks before you’d like it to run in the paper. For Save-the-Date cards & magnets, you’ll want to schedule your shoot 4-6 weeks before you wish to mail them.
Would you photograph our rehearsal dinner?
Yes! Based on my availability, you may book me to photograph your rehearsal dinner for an additional fee.
Can you create Save the Date and/or Thank You cards for us?
Yes, I am happy to design and print cards for you using any of the images we take.
Are you a member of any professional associations?
Yes, I am a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Jacksonville Professional Photographers Guild (JPPG).
Are you a registered business with the proper sales tax certificate?
Yes.
How far in advance do we need to book?
Sessions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Popular times such as Fall & Spring weekends book quickly.
When is payment for the session required?
A signed contract is required to hold the date for your session. The remaining balance is due on or before the day of the shoot, and no products will be delivered until payment is made in full.
Do you take credit cards?
Payment for portrait sessions may be made by cash, check or credit card.
What kind of camera system do you use?
I use only professional quality Nikon digital cameras and lenses.
Do you carry back-up equipment?
Yes. I always carry back-up equipment, and I use multiple memory cards rather than a single large card. Battery and others equipment.
What kind of input can we have on the direction of the shots? Can we give you a shot list to work from?
You are encouraged to be as involved as you wish to be! I am happy to add your requested shots to my own shot list.
Can other people take photos while you are taking photos?
Yes, of course! However, during any formal portraits it is suggested that you request your guests to wait until after I have completed my work. This ensures that there are no distractions or delays.
